PEAS schools are run by Africans for Africans.
Our schools and country offices have always been fully staffed and led by Africans. 98% of our global staff are African. PEAS Board of Trustees is majority African and over 50% of our trustees are women.
We are proud of what we have achieved but are taking a deliberate approach to do more.
We do this by taking accountability for our high performance, challenging ourselves and each other to continually improve and support one another.
We employ around 1,000 school staff including teachers, school leaders and school support staff across our two school networks in Uganda and Zambia. In our country offices, we employ around 60 people in roles such as education, quality assurance, safeguarding, MEL, finance, people and culture, advocacy and procurement.
In the UK, we have a small team focused on supporting the teams in Uganda and Zambia with everything from technical to fundraising support.

The Opportunity
The Technical Team Internship is an exciting 6-month role within the UK Technical Team, with the possibility of extension.
Internship projects will include working with leads in Uganda, Zambia, Ghana and the UK to support PEAS to grow its impact. This will involve developing content for strategic education projects supporting the design of new education programmes that ensure PEAS students receive the highest quality education. Additionally, the intern will get involved with project monitoring and evaluation, aiding PEAS in approaches to ensure ongoing learning is generated in relation to the education programmes.
The successful candidate will need to be a quick learner, highly organised, and adept at working flexibly to support evolving team and organizational needs. Strong written and verbal communication are essential, as well as enthusiasm for working with multi-national teams.
PEAS Technical Team interns are given the opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility working at the heart of an award-winning education organisation. PEAS interns have gone on to a variety of exciting careers, working at the Behavioural Insights Team, the National Foundation for Education Research (NFER) and becoming permanent members of the PEAS team.

The Education and Partnerships Officer role is an exciting opportunity to support PEAS in crucial areas during a period of growth. The role will involve working closely with education teams in Uganda and Zambia to drive education quality.
This will include designing professional development frameworks and resources for teachers, school leaders, and support officers, ensuring alignment with evidence-based teaching practices. They will support the roll out of a new competency-based curriculum in Zambia by developing tools, resources, and quality assurance processes to ensure effective implementation. Additionally, the Education Officer will contribute to key education initiatives, including structured pedagogy programs and school improvement efforts in government schools, while supporting fundraising and external communications.
The successful candidate will need to be a strong educationalist with a deep commitment to supporting young people to fulfil their potential in and through education. They will need to be a quick learner, highly organised, and adept at working flexibly to support evolving team and organizational needs. About the Role
PEAS is seeking an exceptional Chief Programmes Officer (CPO) to join our Global Strategic Management Team and drive our mission forward. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CPO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education for hundreds of thousands of young people across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana. The CPO is one of two people who can deputise for the CEO.
